  8. Thanks very much to both Prof and Victor for this one! I didn't even know there was a mono mix. This has been a great site for me. Been following it for years. Not only have you provided me with definitive needle drops of some of my favorite lps and singles (mostly in glorious mono), you have also introduced me to many records I've never heard before. I am always interested to hear the music presented here and look forward to the comments from your various friends and followers. Thanks again for all you do.

  17. As usual, the great Prof. delivers the finest goods! I own alternate copies of many of these but your rips are frequently superior. You sir are an artist. The Cherry Red group of labels (my fave reissue outfit) should beg for your services.

  20. Thank you for this great vinyl rip of an original UK mono pressing of Wonderwall Music. Don't think that all of the hard work that goes into prepping and ripping and posting an album like this goes unappreciated. I've downloaded many of your rips. I love them all and I always eagerly await your next post. Thank you again for everything, you are truly generous.

  24. This is such an amazing blog. A testament to the love of music and record collecting. Few have the patience or the resources to make such definitive rips of these rare records which have slipped into the shadowy hollows of collectors folklore. It is not only an education reading your detailed notes, but a pleasure to hear such well mastered recordings.

  25. Thanks both to Prof and Vic. It'll be great to get a real rip of this, the only version I'd heard previously being a mediocre rip on a boot. I like this one both in mono and stereo. I wish they'd handle George's catalog the way Paul is handling his own, actually allowing the mono promo of Ram to come out, for instance. George's estate could learn some valuable lessons here. Thanks to the prof for showing us how things are supposed to be done, and all without benefit of the mastertapes as a source.

  48. Thanks for this, my father had it in his collection. He passed and my sister grabbed his record collection. $$$. I got his guitars though :). Anyways I never got a chance to listen to it. He recommended it to me because I used to play around with feedback and effects when recording music. I am very happy.

  51. "Wonderwall" is a mono that illustrates the superiority of mono mixes over their stereo counterparts. I remember buying this accidentally direct from Apple when it first came out and was furious at not being sent the stereo--that is, until I heard the mono. The differences are as astounding on the mono of Jackie Lomax's "Is This What You Want?" Indeed the mono-single mixes of "Sour Milk Sea" and "The Eagle Laughs At You" make the stereos unlistenable. Maybe you should try to find a mint mono copy of the album. In any case, many thanks for the mono of "Wonderwall."

  55. Many thanks. Never heard the mono version. Wondering if they're any subtle differences. Looking forward...

  56. Thanks a million for this fantastic vinyl rip. It is vastly superior to the mono Wonderwall that someone put up on YouTube (which goes without saying, I guess)! Rare as hean's teeth! -Mike

  57. A second thanks for this--and, indeed, all you do. So many records from the 1960s sound better in mono than stereo where sonic space is at premium and judicious mixing is essential. In hindsight (or, should I say, hind-sonics), stereo often seems like gimmickry. I wish I could get you to perform your restoration wizardry on the Moody Blues' "In Search of the Lost Chord" and Donovan's "Wear Your Love Like Heaven." In any case, thank you for ALL that you have done.

  58. Thank you for this - a deeply beloved album of mine. Had no idea that mono even existed (though it makes sense of course). Once again it's like a veil has been lifted...
