F.A.Q.
Who?
I have a turntable and a nice record collection, mostly LP's from the 60's & early 70's.
What?
My aim is to make rare stuff (in glorious mono or sometimes stereo) publicly available again with the best possible sound quality.
Requests?
Generally, no. I select my projects very critically. Vinyl condition is everything. I tend not to work with records that are in less than pristine condition.

this is exciting news, kindest thanks, Prof.Stoned
thanks again Prof., keep 'em coming!
Thanks very much Prof.
The version of this that I downloaded a long time ago sounds like it is free of noise reduction to me. It is clear and airy and hasn't been reduced to mono yet. In fact, I wasn't even aware that there *was* a version with NR.
The files are named thus:
cohen1968-08-31-t09
The lineage is listed as:
TV broadcast > ?reel > WAV > FLAC
...and there are some BBC session bonus tracks.
Let me know if you need this.
J., that's the Dime one I mentioned. I still had it somewhere on my HD, along with your remaster from 2007/2008 which has the bonus tracks. That source has quite a bit of NR, I'm afraid.
If you feel like it, compare the beginning of Stranger Song with this version on headphones, you'll notice how the Dime source nearly has no reverb because nearly all ambiance is gone. This other source was no great improvement sonically, but it had about 50% less NR. Let me know if you need it as I found it.
I am just ecstatic to see this here. Thank you and thank you again, Prof!
Awesome, I'll check it out. Thanks prof!
Excellent. Thanks so much for this gem.

Thank you! I've never heard this one before, and I had no idea Dress Rehearsal Rag was such an early song.
Thanks! I Love Leonard!

There can never be enough LC rips. Many thanks for resurrecting this vault recording.
Thanks for making this interesting concert available! Best wishes.
Thank you very much!!
Sorry folks. I was unhappy with the first version, which I finished off too quickly before going on holiday. Here's the definitive version (well, until a better source presents itself). Thanks, PS
Damn, Once again you come through with the Leonard Cohen. I've said it many times but can't help it, your rip of his first album is one of my most treasured files. It gets a lot of play over here. Thanks.
Prof, it always makes my day to check your site and see something new here. Thanks!

Thank you, Professor. Taxman
I'm not sure what compelled me to read these comments again, but seeing you've already upgraded the set, I'm glad I did.
I heard the first track from his new LP yesterday. The track (You Want It Darker) sends chills through me. There will never be another LC in my lifetime.
Thanks again Prof!
Into.txt updated per 23-9-2016. Please download it from here, and replace it to folder.
Stunning. Respect.
Thanks Prof. I'm looking forward to the new album, so this will fill the gap in the meantime and help satisfy the longing.
Prof, as a long-time lurker can I say my pleasure at your blog is deep and abiding. Your taste is excellent and the deication to the original sound as compared to the loudness wars and digital feel is exemplary. Redbook stuff! Please accept my simple and sincere thank you for the joy you have wrought.
